“I had a fabulous time in Croatia. Croatia is such a magical place. It is a confluence of virtually all aspects of the good life. Great food, olive oil, and wine. A fascinating history. Beautiful ancient cities and villages. Friendly people, virtually all of whom are completely fluent in English. I must say that as an American, I felt rather inadequate. Nearly everyone in Croatia is fluent in at least 3 languages, and often more. I speak a modest amount of French, but this pales in comparison to the multilingual Croatians.
