Day 1 – Arrival in Zagreb. Meet&greet at the airport, transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 2 – breakfast at the hotel, meet with a licensed local guide for a Zagreb walking tour. Visit the Cathedral, outdoor Dolac market, and the Upper town – St. Mark's Church with its famous multi-colored roof, and the Parliament. Take the funicular to the Main Square and enjoy a coffee break at one of the bustling cafes that captures the attention of people passing by.
The afternoon is then free to relax and explore. Zagreb has various museums, one of the nation's oldest universities, beautiful turn-of-the-century parks worth exploring, excellent shops, and studios of famous Croatian fashion designers. Enjoy the exhibition of their products with a glass of wine. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 – OPTIONAL EXCURSION: ZAGREB SURROUNDINGS
Get to know more about Zagreb's beautiful surroundings. We will take you to Karlovac, only about 40 km from Zagreb.
Karlovac was a boating town, and even to this day, the houses along the Kupa River have trails leading to the riverbank, and wooden boats are a common sight. Upon arrival in Karlovac, we will board the grain boat ‘Zora’, a replica of the boats that used to sail the Kupa River in the 18th century.
The boat will take you through different periods of time and show you the value of the ancient oak it was built from. The ride lasts an hour and a half, complete with tasting homemade flavored liqueurs and traditional homemade cookies. The boatmen will entertain you with stories of the boat about the area’s history, sunken boats, and the rich flora and fauna. Visitors can enjoy the ride accompanied by traditional music, buy traditional products, drinks, jams, or unique souvenirs.
They will also see the remnants of the old railway bridge destroyed during the Croatian War of Independence, the Pauline monastery, and the church of St. Mary of the Snows in Kamensko.
After returning to Karlovac, there is an orientation tour and transfer back to Zagreb. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4 – free time until the transfer to Zagreb airport for your flight home.
